The Town lost a great friend in Reginald "Reg" Higgins over the weekend.
He began working for the Town of Ontario Justice Court in 1985 as a Justice, serving for 33 years until his retirement of December of last year, making him the longest sitting Town Justice in the history of our town. He was also a member of several Associations, including the Wayne County Magistrates, New York State Magistrates, and the National Judges Association.
Reg loved his family and his music. He was an accomplished guitar and banjo player. Those people that worked with Judge Higgins have many fond memories of his days, and the Town will never forget his years of service. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Effective today, Adam Cummings is the new Watershed Chairman for the Town of Ontario. Please call (315) 524-2941 or email email@example.com for any Watershed related questions. Thank you.

WHAT'S HAPPENING ON RIDGE ROAD
You'll see roadblocks there because crews are replacing the bridge structure, which dates back to the 1920s.
Ridge Rd is a County road, so the County Superintendent for Public Works is in charge of the project, which is between Lakeside and Lincoln Roads.
He tells me the work on Ridge Road is a replacement of the 1928 concrete structure with a new timber bridge structure.
The work will not change the drainage patterns since there are alterations to the outlet structure (which is a dam).
The county anticipates the project to take 6-8 weeks.
The waterline on Ridge and Lincoln is fixed, and water should be back on. Thank you for your patience in this matter.
Ontario Water Utilities Dept.
There's been a waterline break near Ridge and Lincoln Rd. The Water Dept. is working hard to repair the damage; until then, water on the west side of town will be shut off. We will notify residents once the line is fixed.
Ontario Water Utilities Dept.

Traffic traveling east or west on 104 will have a yellow caution light.
Traffic traveling north and south on Knickerbocker and Furnace will have a red flashing light.
DOT has been notified, and the lights should be reset within an hour or two.
Please exercise caution at these intersections!
We've received word that residents have fielded bogus calls from 315-524-7447, the Ontario Parks and Recreation number. If the person on the other end claims to be someone from Senior Services, hang up; this person is in no way associated with our town. Thank you.
