The Town of Ontario is located in Wayne County on the southern shore of Lake Ontario, fifteen miles east of the City of Rochester. It is home to a population of 10,000 as well as the Ginna Nuclear Power Plant and a rapidly developing industrial park. Ontario is ideal for those who seek a high quality of life and value the many benefits of a friendly, close-knit community. The town proudly supports and maintains three major parks: Casey Park, Bear Creek Harbor at Thompson Park, and the Ontario Center Greenway Park. The Wayne Central School District serves the majority of the community, providing excellent academic opportunities to students in grades K-12.

The Ontario Public Library, located in the Town Hall, is an integral part of the community providing contemporary and traditional services for residents of all ages. Residents and visitors are highly encouraged to visit the town offices and the Ontario Public Library at 1850 Ridge Road.
