LED STREET LIGHT CONVERSION UPDATE

Starting March 16, more than 260 street and parking lot lights will be converted to LED technology with an expected completion date of April 2nd.

The project is expected to save the town $27,000 in cost of ownership and an additional $4,000 in electrical cost.

In addition, several area lights mounted to town building will be upgrade.

In Wayne County, the towns of Ontario, Butler, Williamson and the villages of Clyde and Sodus are also participating.  This project is being spearheaded by the New York Power Authority which will be converting over 500,000 streetlights across the state.

Two teams, each consisting of a bucket truck and two technicians will be working across our town.  There should be no disruption of services.

As the work progresses, updates will be posted here.
